Sea research is a (blue) fairy tale

The Decade Project that turns Marine Science papers into fables.

Scientific topics are not always accessible to everyone. As the Decade of the Sea, however, we work to ensure that Marine Sciences are accessible to everyone. This is why in 2022 we launched Blue Fairy Tales: a dissemination project of the Ocean Education (Ocean Literacy) program of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO) as part of the United Nations Decade dedicated to Marine Sciences for the Sustainable Development (2021-2030).

The tales are taken from scientific papers on Marine Sciences written by Mediterranean researchers, all with a single protagonist, Eu Sou, a genderless “asterisk” with no affiliations. The stories, everyday and simple, aim to make the little ones passionate about research and to open up a new perspective for the future: the study of Marine Sciences.

If you work in research and have written a paper, share it with us. We could select it to turn it into a Blue Fairytale.
