Caterina Balivo

Godmother of the Ocean, TV face and digital influencer.

Active for years on environmental and sustainability issues, she was the first television presenter to bring green issues to an afternoon entertainment program. Caterina has chosen to renew her commitment, this time in favor of safeguarding the ocean and underwater wonders, alongside the Decade of the Sea, as Godmother of the Ocean. First Voice of the Manifesto of the Decade of the Sea, she is also on the jury of the Donna di Mare Award, the recognition for female figures committed to safeguarding the ocean.

Sergio Múñiz

Actor, singer, model.

Sergio comes from Bilbao, he is a passionate surfer and he dedicated his debut song “La Mar” to the sea. With a verse by the Argentine poet Luis Borges, “Quien es el mar, quien soy yo”, he begins his show “L’onda che venire”, in which he is an actor and director and which is inspired by the Decade of the Sea. As a devoted yogi, he knows it better than anyone else: “nature” is not something to be sought outside, but within ourselves.

Sara Lazzaro

Actress, composer and visual thinker.

Raised between Padua and Carmel by The Sea, California, the actress is one of the most beloved faces of the highly successful Rai1 television series “Doc-Nelle tue mani”, with more than 7 million viewers per episode. “I bow to you, Mother Earth” she wrote in a post in which she bows on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. Perhaps it is because of belonging, natural inclination or one of the roles she played as a freediver in “L’Aurora” that Sara Lazzaro has become the Voice of our Manifesto.

Alessandro Vanoli

Historian and writer, specialized in Mediterranean history

In 2017 he wrote the theatrical reading “Words and the Sea”, performed with Lino Guanciale and Marco Morandi. Among his most recent books: “The Mediterranean in 20 Objects” (2018, Laterza), “Autumn” (2020, Il Mulino), and “The Tales of the Return. Exercises in Life and Memory from Ulysses to Neil Armstrong” (2021, Feltrinelli). “We must try to imagine that we are the sea and that we are literally the ocean. Because to be better, we need to be the sea”.

Andrea Grieco

Activist, ethical influencer and sustainability strategist

Human and Environmental Sustainability, the only possibility we have to grow and develop today: this is the message of Andrea Grieco. They have defined him as an Ethical Influencer and a ChangeMaker of the 2030 Agenda.
Andrea Grieco has lived and worked in 9 countries and was chosen by the United Nations Foundation and the European Commission as a role model for young people for the implementation and communication of the 2030 Agenda. The goal: to generate change, which spreads like wildfire. Activist and sustainability strategist, he was a lobbyist for Amnesty International Italy and worked with the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy developing a project on the protection of the One Ocean and on the mapping and protection of the seabed.

Attilio Fontana

Actor, singer, composer.

He was part of the Ragazzi Italiani, a famous boy band of the 90s. He is linked to the actress and writer Clizia Fornasier, with whom in 2016 he published the single “Terra2”, an ecologist song. They have two children: Blu, just like the sea they love so much, and Mercuzio. Attilio wrote a song that talks about the sea, “Una divinità azzurra”, but also about feelings and situations that change, like the surface of the water changes. It is called “Il mare è famosi”, to remind us that the sea is inspiration, oxygen and new ideas.

Francesca Michielin

Multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter

She is the face of Sky Nature and one of the voices of the Manifesto of the Decade of the Sea. She grew up in Bassano del Grappa, surrounded by nature, a privilege that allowed her to develop her imagination and her love for the environment. As the singer-songwriter herself explained: “I have to go to the sea at least once a year. When I see it I stay there, for an hour playing dead, it’s something that lightens me up. Like, obviously, playing music”. For Michielin, the sea is “lightness”, but also something she doesn’t know and has always sought. As she sings, “I don’t live by the sea | but I can imagine it”.

Andy (Andrea Fumagalli) – Bluvertigo

Singer and multi-instrumentalist, together with Morgan he founded Bluvertigo

He plays keyboards, vocoder, saxophone and synthesizer, he is also an artist and DJ. His headquarters in a former textile factory in Monza is a real “Factory”, with a recording studio and an atelier of his works inspired by pop art. He is alongside the Decade of the Sea to bring awareness also to the rhythm of music and DJ sets inspired by the sounds of the 80s and the sounds of the sea depths. He has made the Generation Ocean’s claim his own: “I am Ocean, We are Ocean”.

Remo Anzovino

Composer and pianist

On October 7, 2013, he received the Anima Award “For the growth of an ethical conscience – music section”, for his composition “October 9, 1963 (Suite for Vajont)”, in memory of the Vajont tragedy. In October 2020, he composed the music for the campaign Towards the Ocean Generation #Noisiamooceano of the Decade of the Sea. On November 5, 2021, he released the album “Napoleon. In the name of art”, an original soundtrack composed and directed by Anzovino for the film event “Napoleone in nome dell’arte”, with Oscar winner Jeremy Irons.
