A multisensory, educational and training experience dedicated to the theme of ocean and climate, designed with a view to co-creation, collaboration and knowledge sharing to reconnect people to the ocean and our Blue Planet. Ocean&Climate Village is the first traveling exhibition developed by the Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, as part of the Youth4Climate initiative of Pre-COP26 and in the context of the United Nations Decade of Marine Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).

Many are the partners and academic, research and private bodies, who immediately supported the idea of the Ocean&Climate Village and contributed in various ways to the success of the event, such as E.ON, Prada Group, Grifal and the University of Milan-Bicocca.

Divided into thematic areas to explore all the areas related to the connection between the ocean and the climate, the Ocean&Climate Village, in addition to being a physical space, is a meeting platform: a space to promote an open debate around the issues concerning the protection of the marine ecosystem, biodiversity, sustainability, innovation and design. Boys and girls, teenagers and adults have the opportunity to learn about the ocean and increase their awareness and responsibility. The idea is to create an Ocean Generation, a generation of people of all ages, aware and able to know, communicate and make informed decisions to protect the marine environment. Ocean&Climate Village is also a place to try out different experiences of Ocean Literacy, the ABC of knowledge of the sea. Furthermore, thanks to the collaboration with young illustrators from the Design for the Ocean network, the educational content is presented with engaging storytelling.

Sound Safari

During the days of the exhibition, the sea arrived in Milan also thanks to the Sound Safari by AreaOdeon, the project that allows you to listen to the sounds of the sea and its creatures 24 hours a day, through your smartphone, by scanning the QR Code on totems positioned in various areas of the city: Triennale, Piazza Castello, City Life, Darsena and Bosco Verticale to experience an exciting journey into the depths. Sound Safari is an initiative developed specifically for the Ocean&Climate Village in Milan by AreaOdeon with the contribution of Submon and Tethys Research Institute.
