On 19-20 May 2022, the European Maritime Day 2022 (EMD2022)<\/a> will be held in Ravenna with the theme \u201cSustainable blue economy for green recovery\u201d. On this occasion, IOC-UNESCO, in collaboration with EuroGOOS and within the framework of the Decade of Marine Sciences for Sustainable Development <\/a>(2021-2030), proposes the workshop<\/strong> The cities we need for the ocean we want dedicated to the theme of Blue Cities.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n The workshop will be held on 20 May at the Pala de Andr\u00e8 in Ravenna from 1.00 pm to 2.45 pm CEST.<\/strong> The activity can be followed online or in person after registering<\/a> on the official website of the European Maritime Day 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \n The workshop will discuss Ocean Literacy<\/a> as a tool to connect marine science with cities and communities in coastal and landlocked European contexts. During the activity, industry professionals, oceanographers, city authorities and the next generation of marine professionals will be involved in debates and interactive activities to investigate how to make our bluer cities<\/strong> and raise citizens\u2019 awareness of the ocean. The activities will be carried out in collaboration with experts from INGV, Turtles of the Adriatic Organization, Science Crunches and Marevivo.<\/p>\n The event will connect science with the public in a tangible way to co-design tools and solutions for the cities we need for the ocean we want.<\/strong><\/p>\n Students from the University of Bologna Ravenna campus, authorities from various European and global cities and representatives of organizations active in the field will share their ideas and commitment to ocean protection.
